Veteran team India spinner and a current commentator, Harbhajan Singh heaped praise on Afghanistan opening batsman, Mohammad Shahzad for scoring a scintillating century against India in the 5th Super four game of Asia Cup 2018 in Dubai on Tuesday.
However, it was a knock studded with some audacious shots. During the first part of the innings, more than 80% of the runs were scored by Shahzad. He was quite severe on the Indian bowlers and kept finding the boundaries on a consistent basis.

Harbhajan Singh was pleased with Shahzad’s knock and praised him for a special knock. The off-spinner said the size of a cricketer doesn’t matter if he can score like that.
“Size doesn’t matter, but the size of score matters! Someone who backed his game, more than worrying about his size! Way to go! Brilliant hundred @MShahzad077! #INDvAFG #AsiaCup2018,” Harbhajan Singh wrote from his official Twitter handle.

However, after winning the toss, it was Afghan skipper, Asghar Afghan who won the toss and elected to bat. It was Javed Ahmadi and Mohammad Shahzad who walked out in the middle to begin the proceedings. However, Shehzad started off in a grand fashion smashing Deepak Chahar all around the park in only his 2nd over of his ODI career.
The heavily built batsman was at his imperious best and never cared about the reputation of the bowlers. Though it was a 2nd string bowling line-up fielded by India, it required some special effort from Shahzad to tonk them over the park with utter disdain. He looked in complete control and continued unleashing the big shots one after the other. Mohammad adopted the defensive approach just a bit, as Afghanistan got reduced to 82/4 from a score of 79/0.
However, just when a partnership started to begin, Shahzad again started smashing the Indian bowlers with comfort. Kedar Jadhav eventually dismissed him on the score of 124 off 116 deliveries. His exceptional knock studded with 11 fours and seven hits over the fence.
