Former team India skipper, MS Dhoni dropped a relatively easy catch of Shoaib Malik during their Asia Cup 2018 match against Pakistan in Dubai on Tuesday.

Dhoni took things rather casually, and the ball eventually came out of his hand. Shoaib Malik wanted to guide a short of length delivery from Hardik Pandya to the 3rd man region. He struck it fine and was in the grasp of Dhoni. However, he dropped it, and Hardik’s reactions said it all. It might well prove to be a costly miss for India and Dhoni.

However, MS Dhoni was criticised by all and sundry for his mediocre knock on Tuesday against Hong Kong. He got dismissed without bothering the scorers. However, MS was quite brilliant behind the stumps and moved quite swiftly.

Meanwhile, India suffered a big blow during its 2nd match of the Asia Cup 2018 against arch-rivals Pakistan when all-rounder Hardik Pandya was stretchered of the field after sustaining a muscle cramp.

The level of the injury is still not known, as he was just carried out of the ground. Just as he delivered the 5th delivery of the 18th over, Pandya lost his rhythm in his 2nd step and fell on the group. He stayed on the ground for a period.

The physios rushed in pretty quickly to address the long-term investment. He had to leave the field and had to be stretchered off. It will be difficult for him to take any further part in the match. He might bat if required later in the day. However, with the ball in hand, his day seems over unless something dramatic happens. It could also rule him out of the rest of the tournament. However, none of the news has been confirmed.
