Will India be weaker without Virat Kohli in the ongoing 14th edition of the Asia Cup 2018? Despite having the vital cogs in the team, as many kept on terming that the Men in Blue stands weaker with the absence of Virat Kohli. The latest person to join the list is former Pakistan all-rounder, Yasir Arafat.
Arafat feels the absence of Kohli will make the team India a little fragile in the tournament. He highlighted the fact that India got the players who can take the game away. But eventually added Kohli had been consistent among them.
Virat Kohli absence is a sigh of relief for Pakistan – Yasir Arafat
The flamboyant Pakistani cricket Arafat believes it is no secret that Team India struggled a bit when Kohli remained off the field. Further, Yasir said that Pakistan team would sense a sigh of relief with Kohli not being around.
Though India got the experienced campaigners in the unit, the former cricketer stressed more often that the absence of Kohli would be the real trouble for India. He also spoke about the winning chances for Pakistan as well.
”It’s no secret that Virat Kohli provides great strength to the Indian side. Whenever he performs to his potential, he pretty much snatches victory from the jaws of defeat. So, with his absence from the squad. Pakistan will be breathing a sigh of relief that a player who absorbs most of the pressure for his team is not included in the line-up,” he said.
”There is no doubt that India has some excellent players who are match-winners in their own right. The conditions in the UAE will suit India as well and they have some very able spinners in their squad. Most of their players are also very experienced but all said and done. It would be fair to say that the Indian side will be weaker without the presence of Virat Kohli.,” Arafat added.
Pakistan has the psychological advantage over India – Yasir
The bowling all-rounder who now stays in the United Kingdom (UK) went on to add that Pakistan has got the advantage of a psychological thing.
Last year, Pakistan won the game against India in the ICC Champions trophy 2017 grand finale.
”As for Pakistan, the 19th September encounter between the two rivals will definitely be a pressure-filled affair. Of course, Pakistan will be looking to put to good use the psychological advantage they gained by emphatically defeating India in the Champions Trophy final,” he added.
