So, India defended their champions’ tag successfully, as they outsmarted Bangladesh in a nerve-cracking match that went to the last ball of the innings. It was a collective team effort by the Indians to clinch the title by three wickets in Dubai, whereas, Bangladesh too fought tooth and nail to stay in the game till the last moment. Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan has been adjudged as the man of the Asia Cup 2018.

The game swung in both the ways like a pendulum, as India and Bangladesh sealed those crucial moments.

However, it was Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja and Bhuvneshwar Kumar who held their nerves to bag seventh Asia Cup title for India.

Shikhar Dhawan went on to add saying he likes to play calm and control which he displayed in the Asia Cup 2018. He concluded it by quoting he loves playing alongside Rohit Sharma at the top of the innings.

”Yeah I enjoyed this tournament. Fantastic final. Good tournament for me enjoyed my batting, and hope to continue the same way. I enjoy playing it in a cool and matured manner,” Shikhar Dhawan said in the post-match presentation.

”I was playing more calmly this time, and I want consistency and elegance at the same time. Rohit and I keep switching the aggressor’s role sometimes, and I congratulate him for having a fantastic Asia Cup too,” he concluded.

Shikhar Dhawan stroked 342 runs in the tournament at an average of 70. He also finished as the leading run-scorer of Asia Cup 2018 with Mushfiqur Rahim following him on the list. However, it has been a splendid performance by the Indians throughout the tournament.
