Bangladesh batsman, Mohammad Mithun conclude his maiden ODI half-century against Sri Lanka is the best knock of his international career, but it will be too early to call it as a turning point.

However, the 27-year-old right-hander put up a good show in the opening game against Sri Lanka. He scored 63 runs from 68 balls and got exceptional support from Mushfiqur Rahim. However, Rahim hit his career-best 144 runs which helped the Tigers to win the match by 137 runs.

Moreover, Mithun could only secure 36 runs from the last three ODI appearances. He also said he is much satisfied to make some contribution to the team. However, Mithun added he didn’t do anything to grab attention.

“This is my best performance in international cricket because earlier [I] did not do anything to attract attention,” Mohammad Mithun said.

Mithun tries to convey he is feeling happy to contribute some vital runs, but he needs more time to prepare for every match.

 

The batsman also added by saying he started the last match on a good note and will try to keep the same confidence for the next game.

Mithun also added he wants to secure his spot in the playing XI and for that, he needs to play some brilliant cricket and lots of matches. He will take each and every game in a challenging manner.

“I am happy to contribute, but at this stage, you need to prepare for every match and because I had a good start in the last match [I] would like to take the confidence in my next game. If I want to prolong my career than I have to play well in a lot of matches, and for me every game is challenging,” Mithun added.

Mohammad Mithun also added he would give all his strength to be at the top of their group and enter the Super Four. However, he is also aware of the Afghanistan spinners who will try to put pressure on him.
