Former Pakistan cricketer and commentator, Ramiz Raja is hugely disappointed with the performance of Pakistan team in the recent Asia Cup 2018 in the UAE.

Pakistan’s performance was shabby – Ramiz

However, Ramiz was not satisfied with the performance of Sarfraz’s men after they lost the virtual semi-final against Bangladesh and got knocked out of Asia Cup 2018. They moreover, went down fighting in the two matches against the arch-rivals India.

However, Pakistan only managed to win a match against Hong Kong in the group stage and against Afghanistan in super fours. There was also some poor show from the fielding department. Later, a few stalwarts of the game questioned Sarfraz Ahmed’s captaincy including that of chief selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq.

Moreover, the newly joined batsman, Imam-ul-Haq put some good show with the bat and had scored 50+ runs on three occasions in Asia Cup 2018. Also. Junaid Khan bowled brilliantly in the last match against Bangladesh picking up four wickets to his name. The veteran, Shoaib Malik was at his best scoring 211 runs from the five games that he had played.

Ramiz Raja is not happy with the performance and it had also affected the team as well for the players.

Pakistan lost three ranking points after the massive loss against Bangladesh. Hasan Ali, who was within the top 20 lost three points which seem to affect him. Moreover, Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman also lost four and three points, respectively.

However, Ramiz Raja was extremely shocked after the changes in the points table. Meanwhile, Mohammed Hafeez, who was not there in the squad in the Asia Cup 2018 also lost three points.

As of now, Pakistan will play their first Test against Australia on October 7 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.

“Pak’s poor run at Asia Cup gets shown up by negative numbers in ODI rankings! It lost 3 ranking points. Hassan Ali, amazingly the only pak bowler in top 20 of a supposedly world class attack lost 3, Babar Azam 4, Fakhar 3, & Hafeez 3. Shocking! shouldn’t the alarm bells ring!”
