Yet another time MS Dhoni, the former Indian skipper showed why he is regarded as one of the finest skippers to have ever led India. Despite not being the captain of the national team anymore, Dhoni keeps on giving advice to Virat Kohli who is the regular skipper of India at the moment. In the ongoing Asia Cup too, we have witnessed Dhoni going up to Rohit Sharma and giving him suggestions on field placements.
Even in the last match against Bangladesh, it was MSD who went up to Rohit Sharma and asked him to keep a fielder in the square leg for Shakib Al Hasan. The move proved to be critical as Ravindra Jadeja managed to get a wicket on the very next delivery after the plan was made. Again in the Super 4 match against Pakistan, Dhoni proved his worth after giving the nod to Rohit Sharma to go for a review.
MS Dhoni proves yet again why he is considered one of the very best
Yuzvendra Chahal was introduced into the attack. It was in the 2nd over when he trapped Imam-ul-Haq right in front with a good delivery. He had a good stride and the umpire ruled it in favour of the batting team. However, Rohit Sharma went for the review quite promptly after he silently gave a nod to Rohit Sharma to go for the review.
Yet again he proved to be correct as the replays showed that the ball would have crashed onto the top of the middle stump. Former India legend Sunil Gavaskar was in all praise for MS Dhoni. “What a player he is, what a decision again,” Gavaskar said from the commentary box. It was indeed a great call from Dhoni. We will continue seeing these kinds of things till Dhoni is part of the Indian team.

It also shows that why MS Dhoni is persisted with by the Indian team management for such a long time. Even if he is not scoring enough runs, he is a great person to have in the field who can help the captain immensely. Coming back to the match, Pakistan is batting yet again after batting first. When the article was written Pakistan had lost a wicket for 34 runs in 11.4 overs
