Asia Cup 2018: Team India calls Deepak Chahar as a back-up for Hardik Pandya

It was an unfortunate night for Hardik Pandya in the middle during India vs Pakistan game at Asia Cup 2018. He pulled up his lower back nerve while bowling in the middle overs and was down into the ground immediately. Hardik was carried off by a stretcher and wasn’t looked great. Meanwhile, they called Deepak Chahar for the back-up in the tournament.

Of late, India is experiencing these sort of things most often on the field. The last was the Bhuvneshwar’s bad back followed by the Ravi Ashwin’s fitness issues which didn’t serve well for the Indian team in the England tour.

Meanwhile, the latest one of all is Hardik Pandya, who has been stretchered out after falling to the ground due to lower back injury. It is learnt that the Baroda all-rounder is able to stand and walk down.

The further participation of the all-rounder will be announced soon by the management after the detailed check-up. For now, they have named it as the Acute Lower back issue. The injury has widened with the back spasms that Hardik Pandya got ahead of the tournament itself.

With the prestigious event around the corner, it is important for the Indian team management to look after their players to be at their best. The injuries for the key players already dented India in many circumstances and the upcoming World Cup shouldn’t fall in it.

Deepak Chahar called as a back-up for Hardik Pandya:

Meanwhile, as soon as Hardik Pandya stretchered out, Deepak Chahar received a call-up from the respective board. It is learnt that Deepak Chaher confirmed the call to Times of India regarding his call to be around with the team.

It is an exciting option for India as Deepak Chahar got the nerves to deliver the goods with the ball and a bat for the team. Deepak Chahar has been exceptional in the domestic circuits and for India A in the recent past.
