Asia Cup 2018: Twitter Reacts as Ravindra Jadeja Comes Back in ODI Squad
Updated - 20 Sep 2018, 06:28 PM
Ravindra Jadeja was able to return to the ODI squad after a long time. Jadeja last played in the coloured jerseys in the Windies tour. However, he was ignored for the upcoming series as he could not get going in the limited overs. Meanwhile, Jadeja was finally rewarded as he got back into the squad. India had tried Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal who did well for them.
On the other hand, there were three changes made to the Indian squad. Hardik Pandya suffered an acute back injury and Deepak Chahar was called in as his replacement. Meanwhile, Shardul Thakur was sidelined due to a hip injury whereas Axar was ruled out due to finger index injury.
Jadeja makes a comeback.
Thus, Siddharth Kaul was also added to India’s squad for the ongoing Asia Cup.
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja was at the top of his game in the fifth and final Test match against England. Jadeja scored a fine 86 in the first innings to keep India in the hunt. Furthermore, Jadeja was able to contribute with the ball. The southpaw spinner also scalped five wickets on his return to the Test side.
Therefore, Jadeja was able to come up with a fine performance. Subsequently, the Saurashtra all-rounder was rewarded for good form with both bat as well as the ball.
Jadeja will look to make the most of his opportunity if he is given a chance in the playing XI. The next year World Cup is not far and Jadeja will like to make a strong case for himself. Meanwhile, Jadeja had recently said that he wants to play in the all the three forms of the game for the Indian team.
Here is how Twitter reacted to Ravindra Jadeja’s return in the ODI squad.

Ravindra Jadeja named as a replacement for Axar Patel in the Asia Cup squad.
Jadeja has bowled 71.4 overs without a wicket in List A cricket since Shakib Al Hasan's wicket in the CT17 semi-final. #AsiaCup2018

Bad luck for Hardik and Axar, but delighted to see Ravindra Jadeja back in India's ODI plans. He is an impact player.

I feel for axar. Every time he is selected, gets out of the team with injury without playing a single game. It's been same since last year

Two matches into the Asia Cup and we have three players ruled out for the rest of the tournament….Hardik, Shardul and Axar no longer available. Chahar, Kaul and Sir Jadeja are back.

Feel for Krunal but frankly I don't mind the Jadeja selection as the third-choice spinner to go with someone who (hopefully) has improved on his LOI batting and can field for sure. #AsiaCup2018 #INDvPAK
