On the other hand, arch-rivals India and Pakistan constitute Group A of the tournament. Both the nemesis will lock horns on 19 September.

The third team in the group B of the Asia Cup will be the winner of the qualifiers. Six teams will battle it out for one spot available. Oman, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Hong Kong and UAE are the six teams.

Meanwhile, India is the defending champions of the Asia Cup. The Men in Blue had beaten runners-up Bangladesh in the final of 2016 edition which was held in a Twenty20 form. However, this time Asia Cup 2018 is going to be held in conventional 50-overs format.

Furthermore, India is the most successful side in the Asia Cup history, having won it six times. Therefore, the Virat Kohli team will not only aim to defend their crown but also win the tournament for the seventh time.

However, India will not have much time to gear up for the competition as their England tour finishes on 11 September. Meanwhile, there will be 13 matches in the tournament. Thus, it would be interesting to note who would get Asia’s supremacy in 2018.
