Asia Cup 2018: Virat Kohli Congratulates Team on Lifting Seventh Title

India’s full-time captain Virat Kohli congratulated his teammates for lifting the Asia Cup title for the record seventh time. Virat Kohli also gave his congratulations to the runners-up of the tournament, Bangladesh for putting up a good show. Meanwhile, India was able to tick the right boxes in the competition as they dominated for the most part of the multi-nation tournament.

In fact, the final match went down to the wire. However, India was able to keep their nerves in the final stages to seal the win. Kedar Jadhav and Kuldeep Yadav showed nerves of steel when they scored six runs off the final over.

It was a nail-biting finish.

Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravindra Jadeja were able to put a crucial partnership to take India closer to the target. Kumar scored invaluable 21 whereas Jadeja amassed 23 to inch India close to their seventh title.

Earlier in the day, Indian bowlers were able to get them back into the contest. It was a fine start for Bangladesh as their openers gave them a solid start of 120 runs. However, India was able to keep taking regular wickets to push the Tigers on the backfoot.

In fact, Bangladesh could add another 122 runs in the second phase of their batting innings. Liton Das was the lone warrior as the right-hander scored a fine 121.

Meanwhile, India was able to get over the line by a whisker after vital contributions from Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik. However, India once again had their backs against the wall as middle order could not show the promise to get them through.
