Asia Cup 2018: Virender Sehwag Congratulates India on Wonderful Victory

Former India’s combative batsman Virender Sehwag congratulated India on a wonderful victory against Pakistan. India was able to cruise to convincing win over their arch-rivals by nine wickets. In fact, this was the second win for India over Pakistan in a matter of four days. India had gone on to win the first match by a margin of eight wickets. Thus, Men in Blue were able to continue with their domination over the Men in Green.

Meanwhile, India was able to restrict Pakistan to a paltry score of 237 runs after Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and decided to bat first. Indian bowlers were able to find success as they took three wickets for the score of just 58 runs.

India was able to check all the boxes.

However, Shoaib Malik continued his good form going as he scored a fine knock of 78 runs. In fact, Malik was involved in a partnership of 105 runs with Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed. However, Pakistan was not able to end their innings on a high as they could only manage 36 runs after Shoaib Malik got out.

On the other hand, the run chase of 238 runs was like a walk in the park for the Men in Blue. Indian experienced opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan were able to put a mammoth partnership of 210 runs.

Dhawan completed his 15th ODI hundred. Furthermore, the interim Indian captain Rohit Sharma also followed the footsteps of his deputy as he scored his 19th ODI century. In the meantime, Rohit Sharma was able to complete his 7000 ODI runs.

Therefore, it was a dominating display from India. They were also able to confirm their berth in the final of the Asia Cup 2018.
