There is a lot of buzz for the much-anticipated Asia Cup 2023. PCB Chairman Najam Sethi has suggested a hybrid model for Asia Cup 2023 to ACC where India would play their matches at a neutral venue & Pakistan would play their matches in their backyard. Rashid Latif stated that PCB should have taken a stand for the championship where they were the hosts. Rashid Latif was quite furious at PCB for agreeing to BCCI.

Asia Cup 2023 would be played in a 50-over format after the 2018 edition. UAE & Qatar are considered to be the potential neutral venues to stage the championship. Asia Cup 2023 is tentatively scheduled to take place in September 2023 which would serve as a stepping stone for the nations ahead of ODI WC 2023.
