Australia vs India 2018: Twitter Reacts as Hosts Inch Closer to Victory in Perth
Updated - 09 Jan 2019, 06:51 PM
Well, it has been quite a day of cricket at Perth. The hosts would be thoroughly proud of the way they have performed on the Day 4 of the Test match. They are on the driving seat with half of the Indian batting lineup walking back to the hut at the end of Day 4. Earlier, Mohammad Shami was the destroyer in chief for India.
Mohammed Shami delivers –
Initially, in the day, Usman Khawaja and Tim Paine started the things pretty nicely by approaching the game in a cautious way. It saw a wicketless morning session but the second session has been a complete turnaround.
Australia lost their plot, as Indian bowlers bowled beautifully to dismantle Australians. Mohammad Shami, in particular, has been impressive, who finished with a remarkable 6-wicket haul to his name.
Usman Khawaja has been brilliant with the bat for Australia, who scored 72 to his name. Tim Paine added a crucial 37 as well to push things for Australia. The valiant 40 runs from the lower-order batsmen pushed target to 287.
Australian bowlers struck:
In reply, India once again failed to get the good start from the openers. KL Rahul disappointed with his duck while Cheteshwar Pujara failed to carry-on his glorious form when Josh Hazlewood dismissed him.
Virat Kohli and Murali Vijay tried to build things for India but unfortunately, couldn’t quite hold on, as Nathan Lyon has been brilliant with the ball. However, Ajinkya Rahane showed a glimpse of carrying the team on his shoulders but couldn’t survive, as he cut Hazlewood to Lyon at the point.
Hanuma Vihari batted beautifully to avoid further hiccups for India at the end of Day 4 play. Currently, Hanuma Vihari and Rishabh Pant were batting on 24* and 9* respectively.

The stage was set for King Kohli to enhance his legend. Instead it could be the Lyon King who affirms his. Just brilliant bowling #AUSvIND

The ball from Nathan Lyon to dismiss Virat Kohli drifted 1.5° away from the Indian skipper; it drew him outside the off-stump with the angle, pitching in amongst the other balls but seemingly moving wider, outside his eyeline, and provoked the edge. Brilliant bowling. #AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/dNfrH8y6kR
