Australia and India have enjoyed an enticing battle in the latter’s tour down under so far, having won two games each so far. While Australia might have won the ODI series, India bounced back to take an early lead in the three-match T20I series. The hosts, who started the leg convincingly, face a must-win game on Sunday as they take on India in the second T20 international.

Australia has got quite a lot of injury concerns on their hands – the most recent of which was Aaron Finch, who had a hip injury and found challenging to bat. The absence of Aaron Finch could mean that they lose one more of their experienced batsman in an already inexperienced batting line-up. The hosts’ frontline bowlers Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood also need to correct their death bowling, which was one of the significant reasons they lost the opening T20I. All-rounder Moises Henriques was a massive positive, bagging three wickets and scoring 28 runs to keep Australia in the game.

Despite losing Ravindra Jadeja for the rest of the T20I series, India seems in good stead as they have enough firepower in their batting. It would be interesting to see what changes do India make, considering they also have to play practice match ahead of the Test series the same day. One of the few things that they might need to rectify is not losing the momentum in the middle-overs as it almost lost them the first T20 international.

Ravindra Jadeja’s absence could massively disrupt the balance of the Indian team; however, India still has a competitive edge over the hosts. They would undoubtedly be wary of Australia’s supremacy in Sydney as they won both their ODIs there. Nevertheless, the prediction is for India to seal the series on Sunday.
