It has been a great series for India, who bagged their first-ever Test series victory in Australia. Virat Kohli led the team from the front with a lot of determination and grit to taste success in the series. Meanwhile, after bagging the Border-Gavaskar trophy, here comes one of those surprising statements from the Indian captain Virat Kohli.
Indian captain Virat Kohli and the head coach Ravi Shastri has paired up in the press conference, where they faced quite a decent questions from the reporters. In one of those questions, a reporter asked Virat Kohli to single out any such performance, which has made a great impact on the series.
Replying to the query, the Indian skipper quoted that there are no such single contributions, which paved a way for the series victory. He believes that all his boys are playing as a unit to deliver the goods on a consistent basis.

We play as the team: Virat Kohli
He went on to add saying that they will always continue playing the game, as a team sport, especially, Test format. However, Virat Kohli, later, named Hanuma Vihari’s 66-ball stay at the opening slot in Melbourne Test is as good as the names on honour’s board.
Though it is surprising, Virat Kohli explained that the knock by Vihari was pretty important in those circumstances of the game. Virat Kohli stressed repeatedly that they will always play as a unit.
”It was team effort through and through. We strive to play like that. Single innings or single spell will not win you games, especially, in Test format. It is a team sport. None of the players in the team will look after their individual performances. They will look to win the game for the team,” Virat Kohli quoted.

”However, if you want me to single out any performance, I would say Hanuma Vihari’s 66-ball contribution at MCG facing new ball is as good as the name that entered Honour’s board. That is how we look at the performances. It doesn’t matter whether a player enters honours board, it is a team sport and we play like that,” Virat Kohli added.
Well, the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli clearly wanted to let them know that none of the players in the side plays for their individual record. As he said, Vihari putting his hands up at MCG was a great effort. All in all, it was a sweet series victory for India in Australia.
