India’s middle-order batsman Kedar Jadhav heaped praise on MS Dhoni. Jadhav and Dhoni were both instrumental in taking India over the line in the decider of the series against Australia. MS Dhoni scored an unbeaten knock of 87 runs in the final ODI and continued his red-hot form. Dhoni is always like a light on the path in guiding the young players through and Jadhav said it was like batting with two heads.

India were 113 for three after they lost the wicket of their skipper Virat Kohli. Consequently, Dhoni and Jadhav added 121 runs for the fourth wicket to help India clinch the ODI series 2-1. In fact, Jadhav was playing his first match of the tour and batted with aplomb to score 61 runs from 57 balls.

Dhoni always has a calculator.

“I feel really good, winning the one-day series after the Test series. Good feeling going into the World Cup which is just a few months away. The way this team is shaping up, I’m just enjoying being in this team. Every individual has put his hand up whenever the team has needed it, that’s the best part.

Dhoni is one of the shrewdest minds to have embraced the game. He has the ability to think two steps ahead in the game. Thus, Dhoni always a calculator running in his mind.

“This was my first match here and the last of the series. So I wanted to spend as much time in the middle as possible. Normally I score at a strike rate of 100 so I knew if I stay till the end we will get closer to the target. The biggest factor was I had Mahendra Singh Dhoni at the other end.

Jadhav said whenever he had doubts in his mind, he went on to clarify the same with MS Dhoni. The Maharashtra batsman said Dhoni had all the answers to all his questions and helped him get going.

“Whenever I had any questions in my mind I would look at him and get my answers. Batting becomes easier whenever he is at the other end. It’s like your batting with two heads and one head is his. That is always an advantage,” Jadhav told Yuzvendra Chahal in an exclusive chat for Chahal TV for BCCI.

Dhoni will not take on the bowlers who are bowling well, calculate when and whom shall he take on the attack. Hence, he continued with his penchant of taking the match deep.

It is always a help for a batsman who is batting with Dhoni, as the former skipper helps in maintaining the calm in tensed situations. Kedar Jadhav was able to take the calculated risks on some occasions and helped India in sealing the match.
