Marnus Labuschagne, the latest entrant into the bilateral series was awestruck to the batting display by Cheteshwar Pujara on Day 1 of the fourth and Final Test at Sydney. The youngster quoted that the patience and the class displayed by India’s number 3 batsman has been brilliant to watch.

It was indeed a brilliant knock from Cheteshwar Pujara, who brought his 18th Test century. The knock was also his third century of the series. He remained unbeaten at the end of day 1 and was looking rock solid to register a fine score to his name.

Speaking of Cheteshwar Pujara, the youngster quoted that he can learn a lot from Cheteshwar Pujara, as he is set to bat at number 3 for Australia. It was a tactical call from Australia to bat him at number 3, which is going to be an interesting aspect of the game.

Speaking of playing at number 3, Marnus quoted that he has played at the very same slot for his club during his earlier days. Thus, Labuschagne believes that he can deliver the goods for the national team at the very same place.

“He was very classy, wasn’t he? His time, patience around the crease and just the way he batted was very good,” Labuschagne said after stumps. I think it’s something I personally can take a lot from. He just batted a lot of time and I think that’s something he’s done through this whole series. That’s what we’re going to need to do and all our batters are going to need to step up and put a big score on the board.”

“I’ve pretty much batted most of my time at Queensland at three. It does give me confidence going out in a position that I’m comfortable with. It’s going to be a good challenge and one I’m looking forward to,” Labuschagne said.

Well, it would be interesting to see how Marnus Labuschagne bats for Australia. Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara is looking good to score a massive tally to his name on the scoreboard.
