Australia vs India 2018/19: Scenarios For ICC ODI Rankings

Well, the bilateral series has always been about the ICC Rankings. Meanwhile, ahead of the ODI series clash between Australia and India, once again, International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed the scenarios for the changes in ICC ODI Rankings. However, there are only changes in points for India while the rank will be the same.

The Indian National Cricket Team, who is currently placed second in the ICC ODI Rankings will be placed in the same if they win or lose in the upcoming series. However, they have got a decent chance to consolidate their position.

There are four kinds of scenarios, which are possible in the upcoming 3-match ODI series between India and Australia. During the course, Australia got the chance to go higher in the ranks. However, it depends on the result of the series between South Africa and Pakistan.

India will gain one point if they win series 3-0:

Well, coming to the topic, in the case of India winning the series 3-0, they will be adding 1 point to their kitty. It means that India will stay in the second place with 122 points. On the other side, Australia will drop down to 98 points.

In the second case, if Australia wins the series 3-0, India will lose four points, as they stay in the very same place with 117 points. Meanwhile, Australia will get 4 points and go above Pakistan in the rankings to be placed at 5th.

If India with the series 2-1, then the visitors India will lose one point while Australia will be in the same position with same points. If Australia wins the series 2-1, then Inda will lose 2 points while Australia gains 2 points to equal Pakistan.
