India topples Australia in Australia, creates history

Winning a series in Australia has always been a dream for the Indians. In 71 years, they failed to achieve so, but 2019 brought a new beginning. In the four-match Test series which began with a Test in Adelaide saw the Indians taking a one-nil lead. Courtesy a hundred from Pujara in the first innings, the India National Cricket Team recovered from early jitters. Later in the next game in Perth, a magnificent 123 from captain Kohli couldn’t help the visitors gain any momentum, as Australia won the match to level the series.

Meanwhile, the third Test at the MCG saw Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara staying among the runs. However, the game would most likely be remembered for Jasprit Bumrah’s maiden six-for, which eventually helped India win the Test and retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy.

In the fourth and final Test in Sydney, Pujara again hogged the limelight, as he hit his third hundred of the series. Though the game didn’t get a result, India won the series.
