India’s batsman Dinesh Karthik reminded MS Dhoni to take the applause from the crowd after Dhoni reached his 69th ODI fifty. Dhoni didn’t notice that he has completed his half-century and thus didn’t raise his bat after reaching the milestone. The talisman batsman had his eye set on the target and wanted to take India over the line.
Meanwhile, MS Dhoni was able to hit the ground running in the second ODI. The right-hander scored 55 runs from 54 balls to help India get over the finishing line. Dhoni was able to rotate the strike with confidence and thus kept the required rate in check.

Dhoni could not deliver the goods in the first match where he faced 96 balls for 51 runs. Thus, the former skipper had to face the backlash of the fans. However, Dhoni who has all the experience in the game showed the qualities he brings to the table.
Karthik also heaped praise on MS Dhoni for doing the job in the second ODI, which India won by six wickets. Dinesh Karthik said in the post-match press conference, “I think Dhoni’s been pretty solid this series. It was the kind of innings he’s played over and over again. So, it was great to watch him bat and finish off an innings. We know he can absorb pressure and release it back to the opponents when the time is right. That has always been his strength and today you saw the perfect example of that”.

Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik added 57 runs together to take India over the line. Karthik played a nice little cameo in which he scored 25 runs from 14 balls. The right-hander has done a good job as the finisher and this knock must have added confidence to his bag.
MS Dhoni was a big positive for the Indian team and the think tank will hope that Dhoni continues in this style. The decider of the series will take place at MCG on January 18.
