The upcoming Test series between India and Australia is on its way, and all the eyes are on the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli. He had a stunning record in Australia and also in a great form to hurt the opposition. Meanwhile, the veteran Australians, Damien Fleming and Brad Hodge discuss plans for India’s run-machine.
Virat Kohli finished top run-scorer for India when they last toured Australia. He almost pulled the victory from Australians pocket in the previous tour. This time, he returns as the full-time skipper of the side and also a bit extra-focussed.
Australia will struggle if the pitch is flat – Brad Hodge on Virat Kohli
Brad Hodge was in full praises for team India skipper, Virat Kohli when he discussed regarding him in the studio. He feels Virat Kohli is in ominous form and pretty tough to get him if the pitch assists the batsman even a bit.

Further, he feels Australia should certainly come up with new plans to stop the Indian skipper. Hodge wants his bowlers to do something unique to get the wicket of Virat Kohli.
”Oh, Virat Kohli, what a player he is. Australia is going to struggle if the pitch is flat. I think he is really in a monster Witch I reckon. He is punishing the bowlers in such a way. We should come up with some different plans. I think we should bowl one bouncer and then follow it up with the yorker. Mostly, T20I lines would help the bowlers,” Brad Hodge quoted.
”Maybe bowling wide of him and having the fine catchers at Gulley. Virat Kohli has got a great average and knows every bit of batting in Australia conditions. So, I feel Australia should come with a new plan by bowling different lengths rather than restricting to certain lengths,” Brad Hodge added in the presence of Damien Fleming.

All in all, it seems like Brad Hodge isn’t sure of how to stop Kohli, especially, after looking at his recent form. It would be interesting to see how Australians would approach him in the upcoming Test series.
