Former England skipper Michael Vaughan gave full credit to the Indian bowlers for keeping a stranglehold on the Australian innings. The Indian team has thus far taken seven wickets as they haven’t let Australian batters off the hook. Furthermore, Michael Vaughan is surprised to see Australian batsmen play with fear. The hosts have scored their runs with an economy rate of 2.19.

Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin has scalped three wickets as the track has provided him assistance. On the other hand, India’s pace battery has also done its job.

Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah have bagged two wickets each whereas Mohammed Shami has gone wicketless. Shami could not get a proper start, however, he was unfortunate on multiple occasions as went past the outside edge.

The Indian bowlers have bowled 28 maiden overs which goes to show that they have kept a deadlock on the proceedings. In fact, the Australian batsmen have been tentative in their batting approach.

Travis Head has been the pick of the Australian batsman as the southpaw batsman is currently batting unbeaten on 59 runs. However, Peter Handscomb (34) and Usman Khawaja (28) had got off to starts.

Though, both the batsmen would have been disappointed as they could not go on to make a big score. Meanwhile, the Indian bowlers were right on the money. The Indian pacers have shown an upward swing in their improvement graph and they did a fine job.

Michael Vaughan took to Twitter to share their thoughts. Vaughan post read as, “Full credit to the Indian Bowlers .. they have bowled beautifully with great skill & control .. Never have I seen a Aussie team at home play with so much trepidation .. #AUDvIND”.
