It seems like Mitchell Marsh got deeply hurt by the comments from the ex-Australian cricketers for his recent performance. He feels social media has become a massive headache for the players, as everyone’s opinion is given utmost importance. However, he wants to return it to them with his performance against India in Tests.
However, after the infamous ball-tampering saga, Cricket Australia handed vice-captaincy to Mitchell Marsh, who is yet to make a mark in the international cricket. It didn’t seem correct for former cricketers, who felt Nathan Lyon would have given the vice-captaincy.

“I love the fact that Australians are so passionate about a sport,” Marsh said on the latest episode of The Unplayable Podcast. The world we live in now, with social media, everyone gets to have an opinion and a lot of people see those opinions. It’s very easy for that to grow around the country. Ultimately, I’ll do my best for Australian cricket and not everyone’s going to agree that I’m always in the side or whatnot, but I’ve got a job to do for the boys.”
“I try to do that to the best of my ability, I train hard, get around the boys as much as I can and that’s all I can control. Hopefully, I can perform this year and who knows, maybe I’ll change a few opinions around the country. As an international cricketer, you’re always tweaking your technique, looking back on the footage. I have to believe I’m the best allrounder in the country because if I don’t I’m a sitting duck,” he added.
Well, the upcoming series against India will be a stern Test for Mitchell Marsh. He needs to deliver goods in all sections of the game and also help his captain in planning.
