Ahead of the first Test against India at Adelaide, Australia would face a debacle in picking either of Peter Handscomb or Travis Head for that one vacant spot. Meanwhile, Shane Warne, the former legendary spinner opened up on the matter and revealed who would he play.
Peter over Head for me – Shane Warne
Moreover, Australia had announced their 14-man squad on Thursday, and they had made some surprising calls as well. Though both Head and Handscomb have done well on the top stage, either of them would get picked for the Adelaide Test. Furthermore, Warne thinks the management would go with Head instead.

“It’ll come down to Handscomb or Travis Head, and I hope they go with Travis Head,” Warne said on Fox Cricket.
“He’s a good young player … To me, Head got a 60-odd in the UAE and done okay, so I hope he gets the nod for that first Test match,” he added.
In addition to, Travis Head earned his Test cap against Pakistan in the UAE last month
The left-handed batsman scored 122 runs at 30.50 after scoring a duck in the first innings of the first Test match. On the other hand, Peter Handscomb was overlooked for the series and hasn’t played for his nation since he replaced Steven Smith on the South Africa tour in March early this year.
Furthermore, Warne feels Peter should get the nod and that he has improved his technique with time, he could be an asset for the team.
“Handscomb for me, by all reports he’s improved his technique a little bit and hopefully gets some runs. I’d like to see him get a hundred, a hundred, a hundred and really show his form to get back in that side.” Shane Warne added.
You gotta feel for Stoinis
Also, Warne believes Marcus Stoinis was unlucky, as he had not got a call up for Tests. Meanwhile, he had performed pretty well in the white-ball cricket since the start of the month.

“The only person I will say who’s been a little bit unlucky in all this is – Stoinis could have been there – but Matt Renshaw,” Shane Warne concluded.
However, India will play the first Test of the four-match Test series on December 6, 2018, at the Adelaide Cricket Ground, Adelaide.
