One of India’s newest sensation, Khaleel Ahmed seemed to have impressed Glenn McGrath. The former Australia bowler has recently praised Khaleel and said his attitude if kept on right track, would take him places. Meanwhile, the left-arm fast bowler is taking baby steps in international cricket. After making his debut during Asia Cup 2018, Ahmed has been part of India’s limited-overs series ever since.

However, McGrath, who is often known to spill beans in Australia’s favour every time, spoke highly off Khaleel Ahmed. Glenn says Khaleel has been impressive so far and looks like an exciting prospect as well. So far in the two T20Is against Australia, Khaleel has picked three wickets. More often than not, the fast bowler had deceived the batsmen with his change-ups, and thus found results.

Meanwhile, in the second game at the MCG, which got washed out, Khaleel had the better off Lynn and D’Arcy Short. Learning from his past mistakes, Ahmed had bowled a bit slower and broader to Lynn, which proved vital. Though the match got abandoned, the left-arm pacer had impressed McGrath. Speaking regarding the progress of the Indian international, Glenn McGrath said,

“Khaleel Ahmed has done well. I like his attitude, he wants to do everything. He is keen to learn things. Khaleel is an interesting prospect for the Indian team. He is right on the money”

However, India and Australia are currently playing the deciding T20I at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The hosts, however, have maintained a one-nil lead in the three-match series, courtesy a four-wicket win at the Gabba. The Indian team, who decimated the Windies at home across formats failed to get going in Brisbane.

Moreover, both Australia and India are scheduled to play four Tests and three ODIs beginning on December 6th in Adelaide.
