Well, the last few months haven’t been that great for KL Rahul in the Test circuit. He was failing on a regular basis to find it hard for the survival in the longer version of the game. Meanwhile, he bagged an unwanted record to share the place on the list with Sunil Gavaskar. However, the Stat demonstrates the inability of KL Rahul in defending effectively.

In one of those staggering stats, the dismissals of the Karnataka opener in his last 11 games saw him being dismissed in the fashion of LBW or Bowled 7 times. He was dismissed in the similar fashion during the Perth Test to equal the record of Sunil Gavaskar.

He equalled the former legendary player to be dismissed “Bowled” for most number of times in both innings of the Test match. KL Rahul was dismissed in such fashion for three times in his career to join Sunil Gavaskar, who also numbered the same during his entire career.

Sunil Gavaskar has played 125 Test matches to be dismissed in such a fashion while KL Rahul appeared in 33 Tests. The stat certainly shows the poor technique of KL Rahul in dealing the incoming deliveries.

India falters in the chase of 287:

After Usman Khawaja’s effort helped Australia to put 287 targets, bowlers did the job for the home side. They sent back KL Rahul for a duck, who was quickly followed by Cheteshwar Pujara. The vows furtherly extended when Virat Kohli and Murali Vijay also walked off the field after failing to deal with Nathan Lyon.

However, Ajinkya Rahane looked like making things happen for India in the presence of Hanuma Vihari at the other end. But, unfortunately, he couldn’t quite deliver the goods. At the end of day 4, Vihari and Rishabh Pant are fighting in the middle with 175 runs required for the victory.

All in all, an intriguing day is ahead on Day 5 of the Test match. Australia would be hoping for the victory, as there is a long tail for India while the visitors would for hope a magical partnership from Hanuma Vihari and Rishabh Pant.
