India’s opening woes continued as KL Rahul could not deliver the goods in the first innings of the first Test against Australia. Rahul went for the expensive cover drive as Josh Hazlewood was able to get the better off the Indian opener. Australia’s opener Aaron Finch took a good catch while fielding at third slip. Rahul bat came at an angle as the bat face was towards mid-off while he was attempting to play a cover drive.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul has been in poor form in the recent past. The stylish batsman was troubled by the incoming delivery on the England tour. He was dismissed via LBW or bowled as he could not tackle the inswingers. However, he had played a good knock of 149 runs in the second innings of the fifth and final Test match at Oval against England.

KL Rahul continued his poor form.

However, Rahul continued his dismal show going in the two-match series against the Windies. Furthermore, Rahul could only score three runs in the first innings of the four-day warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI.

Though, he was able to get some runs under his belt in the second innings as he scored 62 runs. Consequently, Rahul confidence is on an all-time low as he has been struggling to find runs under his bag.

Meanwhile, India is currently 178-6 after losing four wickets in the first session and two more in the second. Cheteshwar Pujara has shown the stomach for the fight as the right-hander scored his 20th Test fifty. Pujara currently has the company of Ravichandran Ashwin.

Thus, these two batters will like to get as many runs as they can as the wicket has eased off after the first two sessions. Ashwin and Pujara have completed their fifty run-stand.
