Former England skipper Michael Vaughan has picked Australia over the Indian National Cricket team as the probable winner in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Test series.
Meanwhile, both the teams are now on even stevens after Australia came back at Perth to win the Test by 146 runs. The hosts improved significantly to bring their side back on track after losing out in Adelaide.
While India faced severe backlash for their selection procedure after the Perth defeat, problems have risen manifold as Prithvi Shaw will miss the rest of the series failing to regain complete fitness post his ankle injury. And with KL Rahul out of form, the opening pair will keep the think tank worrying. The management will also think about bringing back a spinner at the MCG, which is likely to assist the batters.
Michael Vaughan believes Australia, who now have the momentum after securing a win – their first since the ball-tampering scandal – can clinch the series. Vaughan, who has been doing commentary Down Under, predicted that offspinner Nathan Lyon will be the difference between the two sides
“Final thought as I leave Aussie … Australia will Win the series … Lyon is going to prove to be the difference … #AUSvIND … Anyway back to the cold … See you all down under in early jan @FoxCricket,” Vaughan tweeted.
