Of late, Cheteshwar Pujara is having a dream run for Indian National Cricket Team. The right-handed classy batsman had done exceptionally well to make things fall in place. He knocked his second century of the series and also running ahead in the highest run-scorers chart of the series.

On Friday, Cheteshwar Pujara reached his 17th Test century when he was involved in a partnership with Virat Kohli. He was magnificent in the Adelaide Test and wants MCG century to also end up on a winning cause.

You have to accept the criticism – Cheteshwar Pujara

Speaking of the knock, Cheteshwar Pujara quoted that he is playing International Cricket and he knows that criticism is a certain thing. Further, he added that there has been no conscious effort to silence critics who have panned him for his underwhelming performance Down Under in 2014.

However, he stated that if a player starts winning games for his country, even the critics can be kept at bay. Pujara added that he learnt his mistakes from the past failures, which he bagged when he toured overseas for the first time.

“When I play international cricket, I don’t need to silence anyone. I just need to keep scoring runs and that is what I love to do. I don’t want to get into all such things. My job is to score runs and I will keep scoring runs, whether it is home or away. Sometimes you do get criticised and you just have to accept it. But if you keep scoring runs and if India keeps winning, ultimately everybody is happy,” Pujara said.

“When you play international cricket, experience makes a lot of difference. 2014 was my first tour to Australia. I had started off well. It was at Brisbane where I got a half-century. Overall I was batting well. I was getting out in 30s and 40s. It wasn’t as if I was unable to play here.  But it wasn’t a tour where I scored many runs. I learnt from my mistakes. After playing those matches, I knew what to expect here. That tour has helped me score hundreds this time,” he said.

Well, as Pujara said when a player talks with his performances even the critic masters should stand up and applaud. Pujara was the often headliner for wrong reasons when India tours overseas, however, he made a dramatic turnaround.
