Heading into the Boxing Day Test at the MCG, Peter Siddle feels the flat track in Melbourne will bring out some result. Meanwhile, the four-match Test series read 1-1 at the moment. However, Siddle’s statement came in the aftermath of the result at the venue in last home Ashes.

‘there’s going to be a result wicket…

Meanwhile, the MCG track didn’t yield a result between Australia and England the last time a Test was played here. Though the ICC had rated the pitch poor, Siddle said the wicket behaved ‘all-right’ this year. Speaking of the possibility of getting a result at the MCG, the fast bowler says he is confident.

He further said, going by the results at the venue in the past couple of Shield games, the outcome of the Test looks evident.

“It’s going to be a good one and I think the boys should be excited and there’s definitely going to be a result wicket I think, going by what’s happened in the first couple of Shield games this season,”

Australia keen on keeping the momentum

Also, a lot had happened during the two Tests between Australia and India. Though India took the initial lead in Adelaide, Aussies returned in style to win the Perth Test. More than that, the India captain, Virat Kohli has been in the news, for his batting and on-field antics as well.

Failing to get going at his favourite venue in Adelaide, Virat hit his 25th Test hundred in Perth. In the meantime, the right-handed broke many records and is leading the run-scoring chart also.

Coming back to Australia, the hosts are upbeat after their recent win and will look to end the year on a high. However, Australia’s run in Tests of late hasn’t been any impressive. Earlier, they lost the two-match Test series against Pakistan in the UAE before going down in Adelaide Test. Led by Tim Paine, Virat’s nemesis at this moment, Australia would enter the contest as favourites.
