Ahead of the Australian series, all eyes are on the young prospect Prithvi Shaw, who is set to open the innings for India. He was in ominous form, who struck a stunning century on debut against Windies and followed it up with beautiful knocks. Adding some spice to it, he scored a brilliant fifty in practice game as well.
But, just when things looked all set, unfortunately, he twisted his ankle to rule himself out for the first couple of Tests. It was expected that he would be recovered in time for the final couple of Tests, which wasn’t the case.

The Ankle injury saw him being ruled out for the remainder of the series. All those, who were excited to watch Prithvi Shaw taking on Australian bowlers ended up being on the wrong side of things. Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw comes up with a motivational message for himself.
The youngster in his Instagram story quoted saying ”Throw me to the Wolves and I will Come back leading the pack. Further, he also added ‘Watch out Gonna Come Back Stronger’.”

Mayank Agarwal, Hardik Pandya added to the squad:
The injury to Prithvi Shaw saw yet another talented batsman makes it into the Indian dugout in the name of Mayank Agarwal. He received a call-up in the home Test series against Windies but haven’t got his debut cap yet.

Most Probably, it is expected that Mayank Agarwal will be drafted straight into the playing XI, as the form of KL Rahul and Murali Vijay demands team management to take a harsh call. Unless, any last chances for the current opening pair, one would see Mayank Agarwal making his debut.
Alongside Mayank Agarwal, All Indian Senior Selection Committee also added Hardik Pandya to the squad. He recovered well from his injury that was sustained during the Asia Cup 2018. Hardik featured in a Ranji game and did exceptionally as well.
