Australia vs India 2018: Rain Likely to Take Away First Day of Practice Game

It seems like team India’s first practice game might hit with heavy rain. The forecast for the first day of the series isn’t looking promising, as the experienced officials reported heavy rain on the cards. They also asked the public to stay at their respective homes, as the flood is expected in some parts of Sydney.

Rain to spoil practice game for India

The current weather forecast indicates damaging winds, hazardous conditions. And also, heavy rain which may cause the flood. So, it seems like most part of the practice game might hit with the bad weather in all likelihood.

Meanwhile, the practice game is scheduled to be played from November 28th to December 1st, 2018 at Sydney Cricket Ground. It is expected that all the frontline players are set to take take the field during the game for India.

Despite the heavy rain on the first day, the second day will be better with a slight delay in the morning session. However, the third and the fourth day will see clear skies. It would be the time for Indians to acclimatise to the conditions.

Coming to Cricket Australia, they have named Sam Whiteman, as the skipper of Cricket Australia XI for the practice game. The lineup consists of only one capped player in the form of D’Arcy Short.

D’Arcy Short will be in the scheme of the things for the selection if either of Aaron Finch or Marcus Harris fail to make their mark in the series. Alongside Short, they included Chandigarh born batting all-rounder, Param Uppal, Max Bryant, and Jackson Coleman. All in all, much like every other board, Cricket Australia also using practice game to their advantage.
