Indian National Cricket Team off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin applauds Team India for their historic win at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday (December 20). Virat Kohli’s and Co won the third Test comprehensively by 137 runs and lead the four-match Test series 2-1. Meanwhile, the premium off-spinner also hails the efforts of skipper Virat Kohli alongside Cheteshwar Pujara and Jasprit Bumrah.

Ashwin praises Team India:

Boxing Day Tests have a vibrant history in Australian fold. The Test, which started a day after Christmas, sees a substantial cricket-crazy crowd at the MCG on the first day. Eventually, that was the day when India stamped their authority in the recently-concluded Test.

Indian debutant Mayank Agarwal put up a great show in the first innings of the game after scoring his maiden half-century. With him, there were two other half-centurions – skipper Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Moreover, veteran batter Pujara slammed his second hundred in the series. He is currently the top scorer in the tournament. He registered his second ton of the ongoing Test series in the first innings of the third Test.

On the other hand, Bumrah had shown his brilliant effort in the bowling department. He has claimed three five-wicket hauls in his debut year in Test cricket and ripped through the Australian batting line-up in the first innings of the ‘G’ Test.

Furthermore, Ashwin is delighted with the win. He showers praises on the entire cricket team and also mentions some individual names like Kohli, Pujara and Bumrah.

The off-spinner also feels that India will continue their excellent show in the impending Sydney Test and will even end on winning the series.

“Not an easy place to come and win and every test win here needs to be cherished like there is no tomorrow. Special mention to @imVkohli @cheteshwar1 and our very own Malcom M @Jaspritbumrah93 “ Ravichandran Ashwin tweeted.

With the latest win, India is in total command. However, the final Test match is set to be played in Sydney, starting on January 3, 2019.
