Indian National Cricket Team fast bowler Mohammed Shami continued his second innings prodigy as he removed Australia’s only hope, Usman Khawaja, to put India forward on day four of the second Test at Perth.

Previously, the wicketless session saw Australia bore down the Indian bowlers, offering a dead bat to almost everything that was thrown their way. India’s bowlers kept things tight by bowling to strict lines and lengths. Jasprit Bumrah was the most dangerous, while Ishant and Shami too troubled the batsmen on quite a few occasions. The pitch showed that it was only to become more robust to bat on, with a few balls jumping off a length, while as many kept surprisingly low.

However, soon after lunch, Mohammed Shami struck thrice in three overs to put India ahead in the game. He first broke the vital partnership between Tim Paine and Usman Khawaja removing the Aussie skipper. The very next ball he dismissed Pat Cummins to be on a hattrick. The pacer from Bengal struck for the third time on day four to have Australia at 198 for seven.

It was a perfect delivery that angled into him to ensure he had to play at it and the dangling prod outside off did not help as that might have straightened a bit as well.
