Australian national cricket team are in a rich vein of form at home. They placed second in the ICC Test Championship points table with as many as 256 points. They recently whitewashed Pakistan in Tests. After gaining much-needed confidence, the Aussies followed it up with a colossal 296-run win over New Zealand in Perth. They then won the second Test match by 247 runs at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Time Paine and his troops are one win away from registering one more clean-sweep in their home soil. Talking about the third and final Test match, New Zealand are searching for a consolation win. However, Australia are giving absolutely everything to mount pressure on the visitors. Australia are now in a comfortable position at stumps on Day 2 in Sydney.

There was, however, plenty of drama for the audience throughout the day’s play. Marnus Labuschagne hogged the limelight with his maiden double century.

Initially, the ball touched Pattinson’s elbow and then it caught the back of his bat. As the batsman tried to cover the stumps in split second, the ball won the race and dislodged the bails. Kiwis bundled out Aussies for 454 in 150.1 overs. Cricket Australia (CA) posted the video of Pattinson’s dismissal on their official Twitter account:

“You’ve got to be kidding! James Pattinson can’t believe his luck! ?,” the caption read.
