After winning the 1st practice match by 45 runs, the English Women went on to defeat India A Women by six wickets in the 2nd encounter. If you give a glance at the scoreboard, you will surely be puzzled. The India Women won the toss and opted to bat. They could only manage 85/9 in their allotted 20 overs. However, England ended up scoring 210/4 in their allotted 20 overs. It is because England reached the target of 86 in the 9th over and as it is a practice match they were allowed by the India A Women to continue batting till the 20th over.

It was a good batting practice session for the English women who are all set to face India and Australia in a T20I tri-series. Vellaswamy Vanitha was the top scorer for India who chipped with a useful 40 off 51 deliveries. Only one more batswoman could get past the double figures as India faltered in the middle overs. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and could never really recover from the slump.

Katie George was the pick of the bowlers for England bagging four wickets for just six runs in her three overs spell. Tammy Beaumont and Danielle Wyatt began pretty well and struck some gorgeous shots. While Wyatt retired after making 46 of 25 deliveries Beaumont was dismissed on 31 off 19 deliveries. Natalie Sciver was the top scorer for Australia with a well composed 54.

The target was chased down quite early, but as it was a warm-up match, the Aussies kept batting and eventually ended their allotted 20 overs on 210/4.

IND W 85/9 in 20 overs (Vellaswamy Vanitha 40, Katie George 4/6)
