Former India skipper MS Dhoni has been away from cricket since their ouster from the ICC World Cup 2019 semifinal losing to New Zealand. Currently, in a break from cricket, the veteran player played his first golf tournament in America on September 13.
The Metuchen Golf and Country Club made Dhoni an honorary member where he played his first tournament. A local friend of the legendary cricketer, Rajiv Sharma introduced MS Dhoni to the club three years ago.

Dhoni with his friend Rajiv finished 2nd in their flight category. They won four out of five matches in this tournament which is a testimony of Dhoni’s talent in the field of golf. The Jharkhand-born cricketer has earlier also played the game and holds a special love for the sport.

Meanwhile, speaking about cricket, MS Dhoni has made himself unavailable for the upcoming Bangladesh series after missing the West Indies and South Africa series. There have been speculations over his retirement since the World Cup defeat but the cricketer hasn’t spoken about it as of yet.
Recent reports suggest that MS Dhoni will be with the team till 2020 World T20 to ensure that the team is in safe hands. Rishabh Pant has failed to live up to the expectations in the absence of Dhoni. He has struggled to put runs on the board and has thrown away his wicket playing rash shots.

The 37-year-old Dhoni has been one of India’s greatest servant. He is the only skipper across the globe to win three ICC tournaments – ICC World T20, ICC World Cup 2011, and ICC Champions Trophy in 2013. Besides, he has also brought a lot of accolades to the country to make them one of the dominant forces.
