Axar Patel Scores Unbeaten 95 on County Debut for Durham

After signing with Durham in the English County, the spin bowler of India, Axar Patel made a dream debut. He made his county debut against Glamorgan and scored unbeaten 95 in the first innings. He scored the quickfire knock in just 99 balls that included twelve boundaries and two sixes.

The fantastic knock from Axar Patel helped his team, Durham to attain a total if 295 in reply to 154 from Glamorgan. He set a plot for a big win for his side who are still trailing by 60 with just three wickets in hand. From the bowling perspective, he did not get a bowling call from his skipper.

However, in the second innings, Axar shined with the ball as well. He took the wicket of Glamorgan’s wicketkeeper, CB Cooke who scored just two runs. Axar so far bowled only seven overs and took a wicket by leaking just twelve runs that included three maidens. However, Axar Patel will be available for next five matches of summer’s County Championship as well.

So far as first-class cricket is concerned, Axar Patel has a ton while playing just 23 matches. He has an average of 48.25 besides the bowling average of 30.37.

Axar Patel has 1163 first-class runs beside having 79 wickets as well. He has four-fifers as well after making his first-class debut for Gujarat in 2012. When the Indian Premier League is concerned, he has a good stint with Kings XI Punjab.

Also, Patel has featured in 38 ODI matches besides having 11 T20 international games for India. However, he is yet to get a Test cap.
