Pakistan’s limited-overs captain Babar Azam has finally spoken on being compared to Virat Kohli, arguably the best world batsman in the world right now. The India captain is widely regarded as the best batsman across formats in the world right now.

No batsman has performed as consistently as Virat Kohli in all the three formats. When it comes to stats across formats, Virat Kohli is heads and shoulders above his contemporaries. At just 31, Kohli has hit a staggering 70 centuries and 104 half-centuries in international cricket. With 43 tons to his name, he is second in the list of most centuries in ODIs. He is the only player in the world with average of more than 50 in all the three formats of the game.

On the other hand, Babar Azam is also making waves with his performance. The Pakistan star, who made his debut in international cricket in 2015, has established himself as one of the best in the world. He averages more than 50 in ODIs and T20Is and has an average of over 45 in the longest format of the game. Just like Virat Kohli, the Pakistan star has also proved himself in almost all the parts of the world.

Unsurprisingly, the fans keep on comparing Babar with Virat Kohli. But as far as Babar himself is concerned, he is not too interested in the comparison. The Pakistan captain has said that it would be better if the comparisons are kept aside. He also that he is just focused on helping his team win.

“Regarding the comparisons with Virat Kohli, it’s best if we don’t do this. He’s a different player and I’m different, that’s what I always say. I just focus on trying to make my team win,” said Babar Azam.
