Bangladesh Cricket team skipper Shakib Al Hasan has admitted that his team is in the right track in the Test format following their massive win against Windies at Dhaka.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh sweeps the series 2-0 following their win by an innings and 184 runs. The spinners utilised the condition t great effect to hand Bangladesh their biggest victory ever in the five-day format. Reflecting on the series, Hasan didn’t want to see this as a revenge of their heavy loses against Windies earlier this year.
“It is not like replying them but there is an advantage of playing at home and away series. After losing that way we had something to prove at least in our own backyard,” Shakib said after the game.

“To be honest I was very demanding because I wanted to achieve something badly. I am happy that team management and players also believed we could do it. We wanted to do something like this so that people could understand that they have taken home advantage and we took it at our own backyard,” he added.
This is the first time Bangladesh inflicted follow-on any team and won the game by an innings in their Test history. Shakib Al Hasan feels this series win is a testament that his side is on the right track in this format.
“I think that [Bangladesh’s 2-0 Test series win in West Indies] was the start and this is the testament that we are on the right track. That series [in 2009] was a turning point in our cricket as we started to believe that we can win. But this one is naturally special,” Shakib concluded.
