Bangladesh Test captain Mominul Haque has returned to training after a break due to the pandemic situation. Starting fresh, everything looks new for the top order batsman. He, however hoped to adjust and get back to the rhythm soon as he underwent his first individual session after months.

Teams like West Indies, England and Pakistan have resumed their training session. Bangladesh are still to get off the mark in that regard. It has already been four-five month since the team has been away from international action.

Haque said that he misses playing the game a lot and more so when he watches other teams play. He however said that Bangladesh will be on course to make a comeback in international cricket.

“Everything seems to be new after such a long time. I think it will take some time to adjust. Maybe it will take 2-3 or 4-5 days to adjust. Hope to adjust with everything soon,” said Mominul after today’s practice session.

“I have been away from cricket for 4-5 months and I missed the game a lot during this time. Teams like England, West Indies and others are returning to cricket and I miss this game more seeing them play. But we too are trying to get back to cricket. There is a possible Test series ahead of us and I hope that we can prepare well for that,” Mominul Haque said after a practice session.

Bangladesh were originally scheduled to play a three-Test series in Sri Lanka in July-August before the series was postponed. Apart from the three-match Test series, Bangladesh are now also likely to play a T20I series during their possible upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.

Haque hoped to prepare well for their potential Sri Lanka tour.
