Sri Lanka hosted Nidahas Trophy a few days back

It was only a few days ago that Sri Lanka hosted the Nidahas Trophy. It was a T20I tri-series involving India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The tournament was hosted to celebrate Sri Lanka’s 70th year of independence.

In the end, it was the Men in Blue who won the tournament beating Bangladesh in a thrilling contest.

It was a superlative effort from Dinesh Karthik which eventually helped India seal an improbable victory. 34 runs were required of the last two overs when Dinesh Karthik came out to bat. He smashed his first three deliveries for a couple of sixes and a four and ended the over of Rubel Hossain with another boundary.

It brought the calculation down to 12 of the final over. Soumya Sarkar bowled five tight deliveries to begin the last over. However, he bowled a length ball on the final delivery when five was required.

Karthik smashed the delivery over the extra-cover fence to give India a brilliant victory.
