Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 15-member squad for the Australia series. Meanwhile, India will play a three-match against the Aussie side at Vadodara. Further, this is part of the ICC Women’s Championship (2017-2020).
Meanwhile, India is high on confidence after convincing victories in South Africa. India demolished South Africa in both ODI and T20I formats. After winning the fifty over games by 2-1, India swept the T20I series by a 3-1 margin.
While, on the other hand, Australia has also named a strong squad with Meg Lanning returning to the team. Australia had a great time in Ashes beating world champions England convincingly.
Meanwhile, Australia will start their campaign on 12 March followed by matches on 15 and 18 March.
BCCI announces a 15-member squad:
Meanwhile, BCCI has named a relatively strong squad that featured in the Rainbow Nation. However, premier pacer Jhulan Goswami misses out due to an injury. Further, India has strong batting line-up in Smriti Mandhana, Punam Raut, and skipper Mithali Raj. Currently, Mandhana is in outstanding form scoring runs in South Africa.
The young sensation from Mumbai Jemimah Rodriques is also a part of the squad. Rodrigues broke into the national team after a series of runs for Mumbai in domestic cricket. Harmanpreet Kaur and Veda Krishnamurthy also looked in great touch in the recently concluded tour.

The bowling department looks a bit low in the absence of Goswami. However, they have the experience of Shikha Pandey to back the young pace of Pooja Vastrakar.
Indian women’s Squad:
Mithali Raj (Captain), Harmanpreet Kaur (vice-captain), Smriti Mandhana, Punam Raut, Jemimah Rodrigues, Veda Krishnamurthy, Mona Meshram, Sushma Verma (wicket-keeper), Ekta Bisht, Poonam Yadav, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Shikha Pandey, Sukanya Parida, Pooja Vastrakar, Deepti Sharma.
