After a poor performance in the first One Day International against Sri Lanka, the Indian batting order, led by Rohit, certainly lived up to the expectations in the second one. But there was one man who stole the show with his glorious performance with the willow and that man is none other than Rohit Sharma.

Sharma delivered a masterclass scoring his third double hundred in the shorter version of the game and took just 35 balls to bring up the second hundred in his double ton. Rohit was unstoppable and smashed the ball all round the park seeing away both pace and spin. A deadly Sri Lankan bowling attack looked toothless as Rohit hit 12 sixes and 13 boundaries en route to his 208 for which he took just 153 balls.

He was well supported by Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer at the other end but Rohit’s innings overshadowed the 68 and 88 runs Dhawan and Iyer scored respectively. In the end, it was a comfortable win for India as Sri Lanka could only manage to get to 251 runs.

Sharma

Wishes flowed in on Twitter for Rohit Sharma which included the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag wishing him in style. Today morning Rohit replied to everyone who wished him on the popular social media website.

Now, here in a video uploaded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, we can see team India celebrating the proud moment with the man himself, Rohit Sharma. In the video, Rohit is seen cutting a cake and is surrounded by the Indian players. The excitement was clear on the faces of the Indian players like Ajinkya Rahane, and Yuzvendra Chahal did not just stop at cutting the cake. The BCCI arranged the cake for Rohit, and it was Rahane who smudged the cake on Rohit’s face as soon as he finished cutting it. Soon after Chahal also joined the celebrations by doing the same.

It is a wonderful sight to watch as the players take happiness in each others success and we hope that this bonding between the players helps us win more trophies in the future.
