The last couple of years have been a roller-coaster ride for Wriddhiman Saha in his cricketing career. One year, he saw himself at peak of his career scoring brilliantly for India with an impressive show with gloves as well. But, in the next year, unfortunately, he sustained an injury, which made his way back to India, a tough road.
In absence of Saha, Rishabh Pant had done a terrific job by scoring centuries in overseas games and also pretty vocal behind the stumps. His incredible hitting ability has made him the first-choice wicketkeeper within no time. During the course, Pant also overshadowed Dinesh Karthik.
BCCI Wants Kiran More to train Wriddhiman Saha:
Meanwhile, coming back to the topic, Wriddhiman Saha has tasted a bitter moment at National Cricket Academy. Ever since his exclusion from the team, Saha is training and undergoing his rehab process at the academy.
As a part of his preparation, Saha made a plea to the respective Indian Board asking that he wants to train under Vijay Yadav, who was the former wicketkeeper-batsman for India. But, the respective board BCCI denied the request, as per the reports on Mirror.
According to reliable sources in Bangalore and Mumbai, a requisition was made before the BCCI management and its Committee of Administrators (CoA) that Saha is allowed to train under Vijay Yadav, a former India wicketkeeper from Haryana. This request was in view of Abhay Sharma, the regular wicket-keeping coach at the NCA, being busy with the India A side.
Well, speaking of the same, Kiran More quoted that he is entirely unaware of the situation. Kiran More is not a regular visitor of the camp, as he makes his way to NCA occasionally, as the most of the time his assistant coach will take care of the things in camp.
Wriddhiman Saha last played for India in the South African tour at Capetown. Then, he appeared for Sunrisers Hyderabad in Indian Premier League 2018 but was ruled out from the middle of a tournament.
