BCCI Headquarters Can Only be in Mumbai as per Lodha Reforms, Admits CK Khanna

The acting president of Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI), CK Khanna admits the as per Lodha Panel Recommendation, BCCI headquarters can only be in Mumbai.
Khanna has also urged the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Arbitrators (CoA) to take a final call on the shifting of board headquarters to Bangalore from Mumbai.
Khanna in an email has pointed this out to all the board members. In the email, Khanna explained the problem with the intended move.
“It is reiterated herein that the proposal to shift the BCCI Headquarters to Bengaluru is based on the intention to develop a state of the art headquarters for the board to enable it to cater to the growing organizational needs,” Khanna wrote.
He further mentioned as per Lodha Panel Recommendation it cannot be shifted out of Mumbai.
“However as per ‘Clause 2’ of the Rules & Regulations of the Hon’ble Justice Lodha Committee Report, Headquartersters of the Board is to be located at Mumbai only,” Khanna added.
Khanna further urged the CoA to reconsider the proposal keeping in view the above-said clause. He also added if it is need of the hour then it may be brought to the attention of the Supreme Court.
“In light of this fact, it is requested that the proposal of the members be kindly considered by the Hon’ble CoA keeping in view the above-said clause as enshrined in the rules & regulations. In case the CoA deems it necessary, the proposal may be brought to the kind attention of the Hon’ble Supreme Court who may guide the way forward,” Khanna concluded.
