BCCI Announces Schedule And Venue For IPL 2020 Playoffs, Women's T20 Challenge

Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule and venue for the IPL 2020 playoffs and women’s T20 Challenge. The top four teams in the IPL 2020 will reach the playoffs. As of now – Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals look in the lead – with the fourth spot still up for grabs.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) Playoffs and Final will be played from 5th November to 10th November, 2020 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Qualifier 1 will be held in Dubai on 5th November followed by the Eliminator (6th November) and Qualifier 2 (8th November) in Abu Dhabi. The final will be held on 10th November in Dubai.

Women’s T20 Challenge scheduled to be played in UAE

Meanwhile, the Women’s T20 Challenge to be played from 4th November to 9th November will be held in Sharjah. The All-India Women’s Selection Committee has announced Meghna Singh as Mansi Joshi’s replacement in Velocity.

Mithali Raj, Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana have been named captains for their respective franchises as the cricket board announced squad for the Women’s T20 Challenge slated to take place in UAE. The challenge will be played between November 4 and 9 in the UAE.

The best of Indian women’s cricket will combine with some of the leading stars from England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh and New Zealand in a four-match tournament, the cricket board said in an official media release.

Thailand’s Natthakan Chantham, who scored her country’s first Women’s T20 World Cup half-century, adds another feather to her cap as she will become the first Thai cricketer to feature in the tournament, the release added.
