BCCI notifies Kolkata Police over Mohammed Shami’s stay in Dubai

Kolkata police had swung into action to churn out the details regarding Mohammed Shami’s ongoing case. Interestingly, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has informed the local police regarding the stay of the bowler in Dubai.
“We are investigating the other things related to it,” Indian Express has quoted Joint CP (crime) Praveen Tripathy.
The premium Indian bowler is allegedly facing the charges of domestic violence and the extra-marital affair. His wife Hasin Jahan levelled the charges.
Moreover, the police from Kolkata is in Uttar Pradesh regarding the probe since Saturday (March 17).
In February 2018, according to the BCCI, the 28-year-old Amroha-born Shami was in the United Arab Emirates. Pertinently, the right-arm paceman stayed in Dubai for at least two days, according to BCCI’s letter.
The response came when the letter got dispatched to the BCCI regarding the Shami’s whereabouts in February. Hasin dropped a bombshell before the media.
According to the correspondence, Shami stayed in Dubai on March 17 and 18 respectively.
“We have received a letter from BCCI which shows that Mohammed Shami was in Dubai on 17th and 18th February,” Tripathy said.
The police are thoroughly investigating the matter and have tried to quiz Shami’s family members.
“Our team couldn’t meet Shami’s family there,” Tripathy maintained.
Apart from that, the police are yet to ascertain who stayed with Shami. The authorities are looking forward whether the bowler stayed in Dubai while being sponsored by the national cricket Board or not.
“However, his wife Hasin Jahan had alleged that she was given sleeping pills and the family had tried to kill her. Police officials are trying to get in touch with the doctor who apparently treated her to know the truth,” IE quoted an official.
The Anti-Corruption Unit for the richest Board; BCCI also met Shami’s wife. Earlier, Hasin had allegedly levelled the match-fixing allegations against Shami.
However, when Shami was in Dubai, Team India featured in the limited-overs series in the Rainbow Nation.
Interestingly, Shami remained the part of the three-match Test series. However, further stayed sidelined for the limited-overs leg.
Hasin recently named a Pakistani model Alishba while stating Mohammed Shami is having distinct extra-marital affairs.
“Alishba has recently claimed that she is Shami’s fan, which is a big lie. She had plans to destroy my family life,” Hasin asserted.
On March 19, Hasin recorded a statement before the court at Alipore in Kolkata. After accusing her husband, she has been seeking to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Hasin also dispatched a letter to the residence of the CM to meet in person.
Owing to the ongoing probe, Shami already stated he would take the legal action. The seam bowler had termed the allegations false earlier this month.
