India will welcome West Indies for a limited-overs series next month. Both the teams will lock horns in a three-match T20I series followed by as many ODIs. This is the second time, India and West Indies will play a bilateral series this year. Earlier this year, the Virat Kohli-led side had visited the Caribbeans for a full-fledged tour right after the World Cup.
It was a highly successful tour for the visitors as they won all the games. Virat Kohli & Co. blanked West Indies 3-0 in T20Is before winning the ODIs 2-0. In the following Test series, India completely outplayed the beleaguered hosts to win both the games. India will be favourites for the series once again while West Indies will be keen to avenge their loss at home.

Venues swapped:
Meanwhile, ahead of the series, the BCCI has swapped the dates of the T20Is. Consequently, Mumbai will now host the third game on December 11 while Hyderabad will host the series-opener on December 6. The BCCI had to take the decision after the Mumbai Police expressed inability to provide security as the city would be on a high alert on December 6, the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition and also the “Mahaparinirvan Din” of B R Ambedkar.
“The BCCI has agreed to swap the dates of the Mumbai (December 6) and Hyderabad (December 11) games. We were able to carry out the swap after HCA president Mohammed Azharuddin agreed,” a senior Mumbai Cricket Association official told PTI.
Another source said that HCA President and former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin played an important role in this swap else the Mumbai Cricket Association was set to lose the match. Mumbai has not hosted an international game since the T20I against Sri Lanka in 2017.
